Spacecation IG

Welcome to my GBJam11 game! This is a mix of an oregon trail adventure, and top down space action game! Take your private spaceship to many fascinating locations a fascinating location! You move with WASD, and can press R to repair your ship using 1 spare part. You'll need those repairs if you bump into any obstacles, as they will mess up the calibration of your thrusters until you fix it! One thing you will want to touch though is the Event Beacons that also pass by.  There are many different events that can occur. Some help, some cause problems, and others are just a fun time!

This game is quite unfinished at this point, but it is playable, and the view in Tropic-7 is worth the trip if you can make it!

Humanity has come quite a long way! Just as our ancient ancestors explored new lands on Earth, so too did we embark on great voyages into the depths of space in hopes of discovering new worlds to experience. We have within us a drive to see the unseen, and to know the unknown. This is called the thrill of adventure!

As the natural progression of society goes though, those early explorers were eventually bound by obligation to those lands that were once new to them. They settled down, raised families, and built stable societies. The conveniences and progress of their society came at the cost of abandoning the thrill of adventure.

Similarly it's easy these days to take for granted our space-faring society. Flying directly to work, and then back home after every Earthweek. We find ourselves sticking to the auto-pilots path, and turning a blind eye to the depths of our galaxy.

This is why I'm writing you today! You've previously participated in our Intergalactic Getaway program, and we're excited to announce the introduction of our Private Spaceship Rental program! This service seeks to redefine the experience of a Spacecation by giving you the freedom to seek that thrill of adventure once more!

Spaceship Rental comes with two main benefits over the traditional IG Program.

#1: You get the flexibility to set your own schedule, and travel freely during your rental period. No need to check flight schedules or seat arrangements when you are the captain!

#2: We will also include coordinates to some of the most remote locations we know of in the galaxy! These locations are hand-picked to be authentic new experiences, as they are mostly untouched by society, and are outside the range of our IG Cruiseships.
